St. Philip's C.E. PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at St. Philip’s CE Primary School is a dedicated team of families, and school staff who volunteer their time to enhance the school environment and create unforgettable experiences for the children.

Operating as a formally registered independent charity, the PTA serves as a vital bridge between home, school, and the wider Atherton community.

Key Information:

Location: Bolton Old Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9FD

Status: Registered UK Charity

Charity Number: 1208132

What the PTA Does

The group focuses on two main goals: building a warm, inclusive school community and raising funds to provide the "little extras" that elevate a child's learning and development.

  • Fundraising for Enhancements: Funds raised by the PTA go directly toward purchasing specialised equipment, upgrading outdoor play spaces, subsidising class trips, and buying extra learning resources that fall outside the standard school budget.

  • Community & Social Events: The PTA coordinates a variety of well-loved events throughout the academic year. These typically include school discos, raffles, and family social events. These gatherings offer a great space for families and staff to connect and build friendships.

How to get involved

Every parent and carer can becomea a member of the PTA community as soon as their child starts at St. Philip's. The charity relies entirely on the collective energy of its volunteers, and there is no pressure to commit to a major role.

Families can support the school in a variety of flexible ways:

  • Giving Time: Helping to set up, run stalls, or clean up after events.

  • Donations: Contributing items for raffle baskets, baking for cake sales, or helping source prizes from local businesses.

  • Sharing Ideas: Attending casual planning meetings to suggest new fundraising initiatives or community events.

Stay Connected: Upcoming events, meeting times, and volunteer callouts are regularly shared via the school's main communication channels (such as Class Dojo) and the PTA have their own dedicated Whatsapp group. For direct inquiries or to offer support, the committee can be reached at Stphilipspta@hotmail.com.
