Our School Values
Service
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
— Mark 10:45 (NIV)
Our Senior Leadership Team chose Service because:
We want to serve our whole school community leading with kindness and compassion whilst having high expectations and aspirations for all children within our care.
Service promotes other wider values like honesty, kindness and fairness, which are foundational to strong character development
We want to lead by example, showing that leadership is about empowering others.
Respect
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
— Matthew 7:12 (NIV)
Our staff team chose Service because:
We want a whole school community (children, staff, families and governors) that respects each other and treats each other with kindness
We feel it is important that we teach children to respect other people’s faiths and beliefs as this helps us to be a compassionate, caring and loving school.
Perseverance
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
— James 1:12 (NIV)
Our Governors chose Service because:
It is important to always persevere against challenges to achieve your full potential.
It is important to persevere when times are difficult.
Courage
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
— Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
Our children chose courage because:
If I'm scared but still try, I can learn new things, like riding a bike or making a new friend.
Courage helps me face my fears, like being afraid of the dark
Courage helps me believe I can do hard things, like learning something difficult or playing in a big game.
Forgiveness
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
— Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
Our children chose forgiveness because:
If I forgive my friend when they say sorry, we can keep playing and having fun together.
If I let go of bad feelings, I can go back to having fun and being happy.
God forgives us, so we should forgive others too.
Compassion
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
— Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)
Our families chose Service because:
The people of the world need to be more compassionate towards each other. The children are exposed to so much negativity now (especially online) that it's easy to forget to show compassion to others. Compassion is fundamental in the way we care for each other.
Compassion fosters empathy, kindness and a understanding of others, which are foundational for building a strong, inclusive community. By choosing Compassion, we nurture a value that teaches children to connect with others on a deeper level, creating a school environment where every individual feels valued and supported.
To teach our children to have a caring heart is important as they will bring that of care and supports to the society for those are in need.
